Morris and Rebecca (Becky) (Pieniek) Sacks

Rebecca, or Becky, was the fourth child of David Eleazer and Rana Temera. 

"Becky, the fourth child (of David Eleazer and Rana Temera), was married to Morris Sachs. They always resided in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a tailor. They had one daughter, namely, Jenny Sachs, who used to carry on correspondence with the Skop family in Cleveland, Ohio. For many years after WW2 nothing has been heard of Becky and we do not know the whereabouts of Jenny Sachs."

Morris Sacks was born in Kovno and emigrated to America in 1885 at the age of 16. In 1892 he married Becky Pieniek in St. Louis, Missouri. Morris - Shlomo Moshe - was a Cohen. He worked as a tailor. They had five children:  Esther, David, Eva, Meyer and Jules. (It is unclear who Jenny Sachs was.)

The 1940 St. Louis census has Becky, now widowed, living with her daughter Eva and Louis Meisel.

Harry and Esther (Sacks) Sachs

Harry Sachs (b. c. 1890, d. 1975?)

Esther Sacks Sachs(b. St. Louis 1894, d. St. Louis 1968)

   1921  Marriage in St. Louis

Esther Sacks married Harry Sachs in 1921 in St. Louis. Harry was a cigar salesman. They had two children: Benjamin William and Rona. In 1935 Esther was living in Dallas, Texas. In 1940 Esther and her son were living with her sister Eva in St. Louis. Benjamin enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942 until 1946.  Esther was divorced and working as a secretary at a clothing factory when she died.

David Leslie Sacks 

David Leslie Sacks (b. St. Louis 1896, d. Dallas, Texas 1971)

   1917 Drafted to U.S. Military

David Leslie Sacks, probably named after mother's father, David Eleazer Pieniek, was born is St. Louis. He was drafted to the military during WWI. At the time he is listed as working as a stenographer. It is not known if he married.

Louis and Evalina (Eva) (Sacks) Meisel

Louis Meisel (b. Chicago, Illinois 1898, d. St. Louis, Missouri 1989)

Evalina (Eva) Sacks Meisel (b. St. Louis 1899, d. St. Louis, Missouri 1975)

Eva Sacks married Louis Meisel in 1923 in St. Louis. They had two children: Burton and Rona, named after her great grandmother, Rana. The 1940 census of St. Louis records that also living at the same address on Clemens Ave were Eva's widowed mother, Rebecca, Eva's sister Esther, and nephew Benjamin William

Meyer and Welma Sacks

Meyer Sacks (b. St. Louis Missouri  1907, d. St. Louis, Missouri 1965)

Welma Sacks (b. New York  c. 1910)

Meyer Sacks married Welma in St. Louis. They had three children: Maury, Richard and Robert.    According to the 1950 census, Meyer worked in advertising.

Jules and Margaret Anna (Koirtyohann) Sacks

Jules Sacks (b. St. Louis Missouri  1911, d. St. Louis, Missouri 1986)

Margaret Anna Koirtyohann Sacks (b. New Point, Missouri 1918, Missouri 1995)

     1950 Marriage

Jules Sacks married Margaret Anna Koirtyohann in St. Louis in 1950. They had one child, Norman Lewis.
